Meet the Voice of the League

Lew Stowers is in his 6th decade of radio and television broadcasting, mostly in the Los Angeles area. Lew’s passion of news sports and getting to know people has kept him busy since 1974. Lew traveled with the UCLA football and basketball teams as well as the LA Rams where he was a producer and contributing broadcaster. Along with producing KMPC’s morning show, Lew covered professional and collegiate games for KMPC and other various networks across the country. Lew then relocated to Quincy Illinois to work for WGEM TV and radio from 1996-2002. Lew Rekindled his working relationship with the St Louis Rams and All Pro Jack Snow and their show “Rampage”. Lew was also the voice of Quincy University and the Quincy Gems of the Central Illinois Collegiate Baseball League. Upon returning to Southern California, Lew called games for the Montreal Expos radio network in 2002 and 2003. Since then, he covered news events and anchored news for 790 KABC and Westwood One Network. Stowers still calls various High School sporting events for local television and college sports networks. He can be heard on KNX News Radio 97.1 as a traffic news anchor. Lew has also discovered a new passion, acting and musical theater, including a 6 week run as Benny Van Buren in the classic play “Damn Yankees” which, ironically is about baseball, dreams and its fans.

Lew will be running our Broadcast internship program this summer. Information can be found in the link below to sign up
